Who we are

Screen Door Films was founded by a passionate group of students who first crossed paths while studying at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. What began as a series of class projects soon evolved into late-night brainstorming sessions, long days on set, and a shared vision for storytelling through film.

Before coming together, each member of our team had already begun carving out their paths in the world of filmmaking—working on independent projects, student films, short documentaries, and even assisting on professional sets. These early experiences not only gave us technical skills but also a deep appreciation for the collaborative nature of filmmaking.

It was through these hands-on opportunities—both in and outside the classroom—that we discovered our creative chemistry. Whether behind the camera, in the editing room, or developing screenplays, we found that our individual strengths complemented each other perfectly. The more we collaborated, the clearer it became that this wasn’t just a series of group projects—it was the start of something much bigger.

From these shared experiences, Screen Door Films was born. Rooted in collaboration, creativity, and a genuine love for storytelling, we’re committed to producing authentic, engaging films that leave a lasting impact.

We’re excited to share our journey with you—and even more excited about what comes next.
